This is a deleted scene from Star Wars... no just kidding it's a pug dressed up like a Bantha! Isn't it crazy how much this looks like the movie? Very cute indeed.

Disney Buys Star Wars
Announces More Star Wars Movies!
Next time you visit Disneyland, there might be more than Mickey Mouse and Buzz Lightyear to greet you, you might also have the honor of seeing Darth Vader and Yoda to boot! Yesterday, October 30th it was announced that George Lucas was retiring and that he sold his franchise to Disney for a whopping 4 Billion dollar deal. Disney apparently wants to own the world: before this deal they owned such money makers as their own merchandise, Pixar, The Muppets and Marvel.
This deal also comes with a promise: we will be getting a new Star Wars movie in 2015. If that didn't blow your mind this next bit of news will: Disney plans on making a new Star Wars movie every 2-3 years, and this could last indefinitely until the Star Wars franchise is no longer profitable. That means we might have the possibility of at least a dozen new Star Wars movies in the next 24 years!
My only wish is that now that Disney will own the rights to Star Wars, perhaps the original 3 movies will be released in their pre-edited state. You know before George Lucas started editing his works and all this CGI stuff started happening. Is that too much to ask?

Angry Birds Star Wars Teaser Trailer
Yes the Angry Birds are coming out with a Star Wars edition of the game, which will be available on November 8, 2012. I will be honest in saying that I have never been a huge fan of Angry Birds, but I appreciate a good crossover when I see one and will be playing this game when it comes out.

Star Wars Characters Painted Holding Cute Furry Animals
Artist Kelly Kerrigan has created a series of sci-fi paintings with a truly unique twist. The set of paintings all have a character from Star Wars holding cute and fluffy animals. The idea is truly unique, and definitely makes the Star Wars villains more sympathetic. If ever their was a niche that needed to be filled for geeks, Star Wars characters cuddling adorable critters is one that I am happy to know it exists. You can check out the rest of her work on her blog.

Watch The Battle Of Hoth Recreated With Minecraft
Star Wars meets Minecraft in this next video. Star Wars fan (youtuber ParadiseDecay) took the time to build an awesome Minecraft version of the Battle of Hoth. If you've ever played Minecraft, you would know that this must have taken an insane amount of patience and time to create. The end result makes me realize that my own Minecraft world is vastly inferior in many ways...

Singing Ewoks
When I think of Ewoks, I think of cute teddy bear-looking creatures who helped the rebel alliance win a crucial battle in Return of the Jedi. This next video just makes them seem creepy.

If Star Wars Was Animated: Amazing Fan-Made Star Wars Anime
If you think you've seen everything when it comes to Star Wars, think again. Someone re-invented the franchise as an anime and it looks freaking fantastic. George Lucas needs to see this and hire this guy, because having just this trailer is not enough, after watching this video, I want to see the entire series turned into an anime too. This amazing Star Wars anime was created by youtuber OtaKing77077. For reasons unknown, OtaKing77077 recently removed the video from his youtube channel, but another youtuber uploaded the video (which originally had no sound) and added a soundtrack to it.

Chewbacca Documentary About Peter Mayhew Has Been Announced
Recently plans for a documentary about the life of Peter Mayhew have been announced. Mayhew is best known for playing the character Chewbacca in the original Star Wars trilogy, and the planned documentary will be about how playing that character has influenced the actor's life. The movie will be titled Chewie, and will be directed by Kyle Newman, who also directed Fanboys. Like most actors from the original Star Wars trilogy, Peter Mayhew appears to have a genuine affection for the franchise and the role he has played in the series. Mayhew is no stranger to the convention circuit: he is often found signing autographs at conventions, and chances are if you've been to a sci-fi related convention, Peter Mayhew was one of the guests. I had the opportunity to meet him at one such convention, and I can tell you that he is both friendly and courteous to his fans. A documentary about his life which would include his current relationship with conventions is going to be very interesting to watch. After all, there are several documentaries for the Star trek fans, but not too much is available for Star Wars fans. It's about time they got their own documentary.

Now You Can Buy Chewbacca's Messenger Bag
ThinkGeek is selling Chewbacca's messenger bag. The product, like all Star Wars stuff sold at ThinkGeek, is officially licensed Star Wars memorabilia. The bag is faux-leather, it has the Star Wars logo on the front and the strap is made from the same material as a seat belt for durability. It was originally a Comic Con exclusive but they still have some in stock available for those that weren't able to get it at the Con.
This bag would have been perfect for San Diego Comic Con's sexy Chewbacca cosplay:

Star Wars Conversation With My Twelve Year Old Self
What do you think a conversation between Anakin Skywalker and his older self as Darth Vader would sound like? In this next video Darth Vader is able to speak to his younger self thanks to hologram technology. Apparently young Anakin only wants to talk about Pod Racing and Droids, and Darth Vader only wants to warn his younger self never to jump over Obi-Wan Kenobi in a fight if Obi-Wan has the higher ground. Because you know... that move led him to fall into lava with no limbs and then his face got burnt off.

The Star Wars Call Me Maybe Music Video
I thought I would take a break from posting stuff about the San Diego Comic Con and post something unrelated instead. Unless you have been living under a rock these last few months, you would know that singer/songwriter Carly Rae Epsen has a popular song that a lot of people like to sing to, dance to and make their own similar videos. The song is called Call Me Maybe, and it's everywhere. So what could be more appropriate than posting a Star Wars related Call Me Maybe music video on Spaceships And Spice? Enjoy.

Star Wars Stormtroopers Ride Dirt Bikes In The Desert
They really glossed over this topic in the movies so I bet you had no idea that a stormtrooper's favorite mode of transportation happens to be Motocross bikes. They find that this particular vehicle comes in very handy when they are out in the desert looking for those pesky droids.

The Star Wars That I Used To Know Parody of Gotye's "Somebody I Used To Know"
I am in love with well done for parody videos, one of my favorites being the Game Of Thrones parody of Maroon 5's Payphone. This next parody song definitely falls into the well done category and will have you singing "The Star Wars That I Used To Know" to the tune of Gotye's "Somebody I Used To Know". Watch the video after the jump.
