Nowadays people like to make movies based on just about anything. Take Disney's very successful Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, which was based solely on a theme park attraction at The Magic Kingdom. The newest movie to take artistic license is Battleship, a movie about aliens invading our planet, which appears to have very little to do with the popular board game of the same name. Following on the same premise, here is a fan made "official" trailer for the movie Tetris, which proves that you don't need a plot for a trailer, just lots of running in slow motion and people looking up at the sky.
If someone was going to make a Tetris movie for real, I always imagined it would be more like this:
