WATCH: People Rescue Stranded Dolphins In Brazil

This pod of nearly 30 dolphins became trapped on the beach of Arraial do Cabo in Brazil. Watch as the amazing people on the shore help return the dolphins to the ocean.

The exact reason for mass stranding in dolphins and marine mammals often remain a mystery to the scientific community. Beached marine mammals have been reported for centuries, however in recent years these occurrences have become more frequent. According to Scientific America, an increase in beaching may include: "human impacts of pollution, shipping noise, and in some cases military sonar" which can cause confusion and disorientation in marine mammals.
