The Situation Is Getting A Comic Book: This Is The Cover

Add this to the list of things of comic books I have no interest in reading: Jersey Shores "The Situation" will be getting his own comic book. According to Entertainment Weekly, it does not have a title yet, the only thing we know for sure is that this picture will be the cover.

Super Mario Bros Aquarium Display

Think this display looks familiar? If you've ever played the Super Mario Bros video game, then it should: it was designed to recreate the very first level of the popular. I have never seen an aquarium setup like this before... it makes me want to dump my turtles out of their tank and remodel their home!

A Tribute To Tim Burton: Zoetrope Cake

If you saw the title and were hoping for a cake that looks like Tim Burton... sorry to disappoint... however this is one special cake. This is a Zoetrope cake, which means that when this cake is in motion it appears to be animated. It was created by Alexandre Dubosc and it's inspired by the strange and crazy worlds of Tim Burton. Check out the animated version of this cake, that will not disappoint fans of Tim Burton, after the jump.

Game of Thrones: More Complicated Than You Realized

Game of Thrones is a really complicated show; people are constantly complaining that there are too many things happening, which makes it very difficult to keep track of character names and important plot points. For example: I completely missed the part where they mentioned that Eddard Stark was a Godly prince of Asgard.... obviously I have to pay more attention next time.

Famous Voice Actors Read Original Star Wars Script

Warning: Some language NSFW

This is one of the coolest things to come out of the Emerald City Comicon: famous voice actors reading the script of Star Wars. In the first scene we have Tara Strong doing the voice of Bubbles from the Powerpuff Girls as reading Darth Vader's lines, and Jess Harnell as Adam West reading as the Captain. Every few pages the voice actors switch characters, it's hilarious and lots of fun to watch.

The voice actors are: Billy West, Tara Strong, Maurice LaMarche, John DiMaggio, Kevin Conroy, Jess Harnell and Rob Paulsen.

Watch The Trailer For Birdmen: The Original Dream of Flight

What is it about wanting to fly that makes people throw caution to the wind and jump off of a cliff, risking their lives? The documentary Birdmen: The Original Dream of Flight features men and women who are creating a new kind of sport by flying through the air at alarming speeds. Learn what we've gained and lost through our history of taming the skies.

The Tetris Movie Trailer

Nowadays people like to make movies based on just about anything. Take Disney's very successful Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, which was based solely on a theme park attraction at The Magic Kingdom. The newest movie to take artistic license is Battleship, a movie about aliens invading our planet, which appears to have very little to do with the popular board game of the same name. Following on the same premise, here is a fan made "official" trailer for the movie Tetris, which proves that you don't need a plot for a trailer, just lots of running in slow motion and people looking up at the sky.

If someone was going to make a Tetris movie for real, I always imagined it would be more like this:

The Best. Video Game Room. Ever.

A few weeks back we got to see a Super Mario Bros. themed bathroom. While that was impressive, this guy has the best gaming room I have ever seen. Why? Not only is his collection amazing, but it's freaking organized. I have half of those consoles, but they are all stored away in boxes or piled on top of each other anywhere I could find space. I have a gaming room like this in my dreams. If you have seen a better gaming room than this, send some pics please!

Prometheus Coors Light Commercial

This commercial sounds so cool that I almost wanted to go out and buy some Coors Light just because I love the sounds from the Prometheus trailers. Until I watched this commercial, I didn't know that there was anything in common between Coors Light and the upcoming movie, but now I know that there is: both companies like money. I know two things about Coors light; one is that it's not an especially great beer, and two, it's pretty cheap. If the filmmakers want to associate the movie Prometheus with a bad tasting, cheap product, let them. It wouldn't be my choice but then again, I am obviously not an expert in these things.

Author and Illustrator Maurice Sendak Has Passed Away

[Source: latimes]

Today is definitely a sad day for fans of children's literature: beloved children's author Maurice Sendak has passed away due to complications from a stroke. His children's literature has been some of my favorite of all time, and his illustrations were entirely unique and loved by many.  His most famous book: "Where the Wild Things Are", was first published in 1963, but the book has remained relevant until today. In the first few years that it was published it was considered controversial: many people felt that the book was too dark and disturbing for children and in some places it was banned. On the other hand it was widely praised by many and the book won several awards: including the Caldecott Medal in 1964. Today it is considered one of the greatest children's books of all time and in 2009 it was turned into a feature film. Maurice Sendak is considered to be an important figure in children's literature; he changed the way books were written for children and greatly influenced many other writers and illustrators. He was 83 years old.

In this specific case, youtuber Nick McKaig sang different parts of the Star Wars theme, originally composed by John Williams, and then meshed them all together to create a wonderful cover version of the theme song.

Happy Star Wars Day Everyone!

For those unaware of the occasion, today is the unofficial day to celebrate Star Wars. How did it come to be on this day? It's simple: the popular Star Wars saying "May the force be with you" sounds very similar to saying the date "May the Fourth". Get it? Therefore today is a very important day for fans. Star Wars fans, and in fact ALL sci-fi fans deserve a day to celebrate those things that they love so much. I am curious is anyone doing anything special to celebrate? May the fourth be with you!
